POCC Planning
From PuneTech
The Pune OpenCoffee Club is an informal group targeted towards the Pune startups ecosystem.
There is no official structure to POCC. Anybody can call for a meeting, and anybody can suggest events to be held. Just start a discussion on the website forums or the mailing list and you are good to go.
In addition to the informal / ad hoc meetings that happen, we would also like to have a few structured events. This page captures some of the ideas that we are trying to plan and put into practice. Once any one of these becomes a regular feature, it should be added to the Pune OpenCoffee Club main page. This page is for things that are still in the planning phases.
Please feel free to add to this page, or modify parts with your suggestions.

[edit] Talks / Presentations / Demos
We can have presentations in the following categories:
- Industry Experts
- To share expertise or knowledge in some particular area.
- Successful Entrepreneurs
- To provide inspiration, and wisdom to POCC members
- Ecosystem Components
- Venture Capitalists, Design Shops, Lawyers, Mentors and Incubators, Lawyers, etc. etc. Make sure that they are told to pitch an idea, not their company.
- Demos
- Presentations or demos by startups, to get exposure / feedback.
SICSR has agreed to provide us with a room on the third Saturday of every month for this. So we don't have to scramble for a venue every time. Suggestions for speakers in this category have to come from the POCC members. Please add your suggestions here.
[edit] Mentoring Program
We can try to get TiE Pune or KickStart to start a mentorship program similar to the one run by TiE New Delhi. The idea is that local entrepreneurs submit a form (example) to give some background information and details of what kind of mentorship they are looking for. TiE or Kickstart find mentors, either locally (for in-person mentoring), or nationally/internationally (for phone/video-conference mentoring).
[edit] Roadshow
Have a Pune event similar to proto.in or HeadStart. This can be a big event, where we invite people from all over India to interact with Pune Startups.
[edit] Special Interest Groups
Create SIGs for special interests within the community. Some of these already exist - see the Category:Groups and Organizations page. However, there is still a need for others.
[edit] A better website for POCC
We can do a lot more with the POCC website, so if we find the appropriate volunteers, we can start leveraging the website. Contact Santosh Dawara or Unmesh Mayekar for this.
