Technologies

  • Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) is a storage technology that uses of two or more hard disks in various configurations to achieve greater IO performance, high-reliability, fault tolerance and larger volume sizes through redundancy and aggregation. 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 01, 30, 50, Linear, JBOD are some of the RAID levels supported in our storage solution.
  • Snapshot is a feature that enables point in time image of a volume or a set of volumes residing on proSUN system. Currently, a VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) Compatible and writeable snapshot is being developed in IDC.
  • Storage Management Initiative-Specification (SMI-S) is a standard developed by SNIA along with technical bodies that are strategically aligned with it. This specification standardizes and streamlines storage management functions, featuring common set of tools for day-to-day tasks of IT environment. SMI-S is based upon the Common Information Model and the Web-Based Enterprise Management Standards. At IDC a working SMIS server has been implemented to manage the RAID implementation based on the array profile defined by SNIA.
  • Flex is a highly productive, free open source framework for building and maintaining expressive applications that deploy consistently on all major browsers, desktops, and operating systems. Currently IDC is involved in Designing, Development and Maintenance of GUI for Controller, using FLEX Technology.
  • Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology, (S.M.A.R.T.) is a monitoring system for computer hard disks to detect and report on various indicators of reliability, in the hope of anticipating failures. This feature is integrated into our storage solution to add to its fault tolerance and high-reliability capabilities.
