Wipro’s set up operations in Pune in the year 2000. Since then the Pune Development Centre (PDC) has been on a rapid growth journey. As of early 2008 they had more than 8000 employees working out of PDC-1 and PDC – II that includes IT and BPO operations. This makes the development centre one of the fastest growing locations.
Wipro has one of the most diverse businesses running out of its Development Centre at Pune including the VLSI, Embedded, Telecom, Enterprise Application Services, Banking, Insurance, Securities and Capital Market business. Service Line businesses such as e-Enabling, Microsoft Business Unit, Testing services, Technology Infrastructure Services have set up large bases at Pune. Pune Development Centre is also hosting many of the key customer relationships of Wipro From the Pune centre.
