[edit] Threat Detection and Classification

Detect unauthorized wireless devices that are within the range of the corporate wireless network. Classify them as harmless or harmful. i.e. The guy sitting in the parking lot with a wi-fi enabled laptop and trying to connect into the corporate network, or trying to fool employees into connecting to his laptop ("Free Wi-Fi") must be prevented. AirTight's wireless security box can prevent that guy from communicating with any wireless device in the corporate network by jamming him. On the other hand, the company that has offices next door to you also has wireless devices and if you jam them, you'll get sued. Hence, AirTight has patented technology that allows them to distinguish between these two types of cases.

[edit] Preventing multiple-simultaneous threats

I don't understand this one. Someone please clarify. I believe it has something to do with the fact that if a single AirTight wi-fi security sensor can detect multiple different simultaneous attacks that are in progress, then it reduces the total number of such sensors that have to be deployed to totally protect the enterprise.

Once you have detected that here exists a rogue wireless device somewhere in your building, how do you get rid of it physically? AirTight has technology that uses its own wireless sensors and triangulation to determine the actual physical location of the rogue device.

[edit] Wireless Security as a Service

In April 2008, AirTight become the first vendor to offer wireless security using the SaaS model. The SpectraGuard Online service offers the three modules (vulnerability assessment, regulatory compliance and vulnerability remediation) as plug and play services. The customer has to install pre-configured wireless sensors (plug-and-play), but the rest of the system (i.e. the servers and software that analyze the data and produce reports or take action) is hosted at AirTight's co-location facility. This model tries to overcome the cost and complexity barriers that prevent some customers (especially SMEs).
